Arusha Technical College has conducted tracer study on the employment outcomes of its graduates for three cohorts (2017, 2018 and 2019) and found that the employment rate on contract basis is generally high among its graduates.

During the tracer study graduates were asked to indicate whether they were permanently employed, employed on contract basis, self – employed, attending further training and unemployed and looking for employment.

The study showed that 30.2% were employed on contract basis, 29.6% of respondents were unemployed and looking for employment, 20.4% were permanently employed, 14.3% were attending further training and 5.5% were self- employed.

On the other hand, out of all respondents (587), employment status for female is 5% on permanent employment, 6% on contract basis, 4% attending further training, 1% are self – employed and 7% are unemployed and looking for employment.

From these findings it shows that from all employment status there is high disparity between male and female which reflects number of enrolment.
