Kenya Coast National Polytechnic College makes progress in conducting Tracer Study for FY 2021/2022

The Team conducting Graduate Tracer Study at Kenya Coast National Polytechnic College has finalized on the first deliverable which entailed; –

  1. Development of standard set of data collection tools for Graduates, Industry/Employer and Staff; The standard tools are attached;
  2. Development of database of graduates that would enable KCNP to annually make follow ups on graduates and their occupational movements in the labour market; and
  3. Compilation of Tracer Study programmes to be tracked.

The team is now progressing to implementation of deliverable number 2, 3 and 4 as per the work plan. The 4th deliverable can happen concurrently with items 2 and 3 which are therefore crashed. The activities include;

  1. Review relevant literature, TVET Documents, baseline surveys and studies and reports;
  2. Fixing institutional logo, designing cover page and back page, introduction, background of study, study objectives, methodology and review of lessons learnt from previous tracer studies. Analysis of the EASTRIP project achievements;
  3. Data collection from Graduates, Industry and Staff.

Activity number four, 4, owing to its nature of field work and regular contact is allocated 30 days to be completed. The tracer study team will collect data from;

  1. The sampled 1492 KCNP graduates of 2017,2018 and 2019;
  2. At least 50 industries within and outside coast region;
  3. At least 60 trainers of the KCNP.
