Monitoring and evaluation (M&E) is an important activity to track the progress of the project implementation and check whether the project is in the right track to achieve the project objectives. M&E is also an instrument to make corrective measures based on the evidences collected during the process if the progress is found to be off track.
It is against this backdrop that the IUCEA organised the capacity building training for the monitoring and evaluations officers from National Project Coordination Units (NPCUs) and Regional Flagship TVET Institutes (RFTIs) in Ethiopia, Kenya, and Tanzania. The training was conducted between 22nd and 26th October 2020.
One of the consultants facilitating M&E training in Naivasha, Kenya.
The training was delivered to forty participants from the three countries. Participants included monitoring and evaluation officers, other project staffs particularly at project coordination positions. The participants per country have been 17 from Ethiopia, 12 from Tanzania and 11 from Kenya.
The training is expected to boost the capacity of monitoring and evaluation officers to track progress in implementation of the project and to provide feedback to the project implementing bodies based on the findings. The training would also help the officers on how to ensure the quality of data and handle data properly including those evidences required for verification of results.
