IUCEA trains communication Officers in digital marketing

The Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA), the EASTRIP Regional Facilitation Unit (RFU), carried out a training on digital marketing for communication officers of Regional Flagship TVET Institutes (RFTIs).

The National Project Coordination Units (NCPUs) and RFTIs are currently implementing project components that require publicity and continuous communication. Digital marketing was identified as one of the critical skills needed by communications officers to effectively market TVET programmes and raise awareness of the project on digital media platforms.

To this end, IUCEA organized a three-day virtual training and capacity building workshop for communication officers and staff designated for communication from RFTIs and NCPUs.

The virtual training and capacity building workshop took place from 7th to 9th December 2020 and it was facilitated by a Digital Marketing Consultant. Participants learnt about digital strategy, content marketing, digital media monitoring and analytics. The communication officers were also trained

The training gave communication officers the necessary digital skills to design and implement marketing and communication campaigns on digital media platforms.
