Dire Dawa Polytechnic College in partnership with Addis Ababa University, African Railway Centre of Excellence train staff in Railway Truck Structure Modelling and Simulation Organized

Dire Dawa Polytechnic College in partnership the African Railway Centre of Excellence at Addis Ababa University to build the capacity of teachers on railway technology. Dire Dawa Polytechnic College hosts the Regional Flagship TVET Institute in Railway Technology.

This follows the signing of Memorandum of Understanding with Addis Ababa University- Institute of Technology, African Railway Centre of Excellence.

The University organized a short-term training on Railway Truck Structure Modelling and Simulation for 10 teachers who received certificates from the University.

One of the EASTRIP Project targets is to provide outreach and support to non-project national TVET institutes to maximize the benefits of the Project to other TVET institutes. Dire Dawa will support 11 non-project national TVET institutes. To this end, the Polytechnic organized a workshop to share knowledge and experiences about the EASTRIP Project and World Bank financing.

Tutors who had gone on industrial attachment also shared their experiences with non-project national TVET institutes.
