The Arusha Technical College under EASTRIP in collaboration with industry was able to attach 18 teaching staff for industrial training. The staff were attached in the industry for duration of one month each during which they were working as part of staff in a particular organization.
The staff were attached in the renewable energy industries as follows:
- Five (5) attached in field of Wind Energy Engineering,
- Two (2) in Hydropower Engineering,
- Five (5) in Solar Energy Engineering and
- Six (6) in Bio-energy Engineering.

The aim of staff attachment in renewable industry is to help teachers in renewable energy to sharpen their practical skills and know the real work environment for the students they are preparing. The industrial attachment also helps them to learn and be aware of new technologies which are in the field as well as finding areas for research and development to collaborate between ATC and the industries for the sustainability of the renewable sector.
