
The Inter University Council of East Africa (IUCEA), the EASTRIP Regional Facilitation Unit, in partnership with Guangzhou Technician College (GTC), organized a webinar on Developing Demand-driven curriculum in technical and vocational colleges.
GTC is the largest technical college in China’s Guangdong Province which has of the largest number of vocational education institutions in the country.
The webinar focused on how TVET institutions can develop driven curricula for training graduates with the required skills to meet the demands of the job market. Participants noted that developing demand driven TVET programs is important in developing skilled graduates that meet demands for the labour market.
The webinar attracted participants from TVET institutes in East Africa including principals, managers, and lecturers from 16 Regional Flagship TVET Institute (RFTIs) supported by EASTRIP. TVET leaders Seychelles and other private sector corporations that have signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with various RFTIs also attended.
