The Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA), the EASTRIP Regional Facilitation Unit (RFU) for East Africa Skills for Transformation and Regional Integration Project (EASTIP), conducted a monitoring and support mission in Kenya Coast National Polytechnic on 5th June 2023. The mission is in line with the mandate of RFU of coordinating the development and implementation of the EASTRIP work plan, undertaking monitoring and evaluation, coordinating capacity building initiatives for the Flagship TVET Institutes, and sharing good practices in Ethiopia, Kenya and Tanzania.
The IUCEA Team were accompanied by Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) officers from the National Project Coordination Units (NPCUs) of the three (3) countries: Republic of Kenya, United Republic of Tanzania and Federal Republic of Ethiopia.

The IUCEA and KCNP Project Implementation Unit (PIU), KCNP Council and the Industry Advisory Board (IAB) visited the construction site of the Marine School and planted trees. This was in line with the President’s National Tree Planting Restoration initiative whose ambition is to plant at least 15 billion trees by 2030. It is meant to respond to the devastating impact of desertification and climate change in Kenya
