Arusha Technical College in Tanzania commended for progress in construction of Regional Flagship TVET Institute in renewable energy

Arusha Technical College has been commended for the good construction progress achieved at Kikuletwa campus located in Hai District, Kilimanjaro region, which is expected to be the Centre of Excellence in Renewable Energy.

The complements were made by the Tanzania Deputy permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology Dr. Franklin Rwezimula during his visit to the Campus to inspect the construction progress of various buildings and to listen to the challenges.

“I congratulate the Arusha Technical College for the good work in supervision, I congratulate the Contractors, and there are two local Contractors, their work is good, the Ministry of Education will continue to provide support to local Colleges so that they can be independent and compete internationally,” Dr. Rwezimula said.

Additionally, Dr. Rwezimula said that after the Campus is complete, it will help provide professionals who will help reduce the use of charcoal and firewood by using clean energy that is environmentally friend.

Kikuletwa Campus is being constructed with the funding from the World Bank through East Africa Skills for Transformation and Regional Integration Project (EASTRIP) which will upgrade the Campus into a Centre of Excellence in Renewable Energy.
