Kenya Institute of Highways and Building Technology (KIHBT) has been in existence for the last 67 years. The institute launched its Alumni Association on 23rd April 2022.The event was led by the Mr. Abednego Etyang’, The Director of Administration, State Department for Infrastructure. The aim of establishing the Association is:
- To have an avenue to bond and exchange ideas and Emerging technologies in the industry.
- Create an opportunity for KIHBT to develop linkages with the industry for purposes of bring the industry into the classroom and provision of attachments for our students and staff.
- The association also will enable and facilitate networking among ourselves to ensure we inform each other of the available opportunities in the market.
The visionaries of the institutes were highly appreciated for ensuring the institute stays on course for almost seven decades. “Today KIHBT stands tall for producing some of the best brains in the wider infrastructure sector. These achievements continue to be our greatest strength and are a clear indication of the legacy of academic excellence we have attained over the years” said Mr. Etyang’
An interim committee was appointed to spearhead the association. To commemorate the event, the management of the institute and the alumnus engaged in a tree planting session afterwards.
