KIHBT conducts Training and Sensitization Programs for its Gender Committee

By Beatrice Njenga

Members of the gender committee recently participated in two trainings organised and facilitated by the Gender and Disability Development Centre. The first is a workshop for domesticating the Session Paper No.02 of 2019 on National Policy on Gender and Development held on 27th – 29th April 2022.

The aim of the training was to equip the participants with the tools required to domesticate the National Policy on Gender and Development to their organization needs. KIHBT gender committee members who attended the training presented the draft KIHBT gender policy for discussion and consultation. At the end of the workshop, the draft policy generated two policies: The draft KIHBT gender mainstreaming policy and the draft KIHBT sexual Harassment and Gender Based Violence (GBV) policy.

The second was a training and sensitization on Gender, Disability & Road Safety mainstreaming, ADA, HIV-AIDS and Anti-Corruption, Ethics, and Integrity at the workplace with other crosscutting PC targets held on 20th – 24th June 2022. This training and sensitisation seminar was aimed at imparting knowledge on performance contracting and reporting tools relating to cross-cutting issues in government departments and agencies.
