The Industry Advisory Board (IAB) of Holeta Polytechnic College conducted its bi-annual meeting on 27th October 2022 to discuss the annual progress report and workplan. According to the EASTRIP Strategic Investment Plan (SIP) for the College the IAM meetings are held twice a year. The Board is comprised of experts who lend their skills, guidance, and knowledge for successful project implementation and facilitating linkages between the college and industry. Inline with SIP, at least 50% of members of the Board are representatives from industries.
The IAB Chairman, Mr. Ato Belachew Hurrisa, welcomed all participants and thanked them for attending the meeting. The chairman highlighted activities that the Board is doing to achieve the objectives and goals of the ESATRIP at Holeta Polytechnic College.
The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer presented the Annual Progress Report for 2021/22 and Annual Workplan for 2022/23. Participants appreciated the achievements of the project. The chairman advised the college can it could involve industry in curriculum development to improve quality and relevancy of the training programmes.
The Board Members visited the construction site to monitor the progress of the project and shared their experiences with the client and contractor.
