Dire Dawa Polytechnic College tutors undertook the second-round industrial attachment for work place practical training in Dire Dawa Industrial Park at Andrea Shoes Manufacturing PLC. During the attachment the teachers were not only gathering new knowledge and skills but also providing training for those newly employed industry’s workers. This mutual benefit between the industry and the College will establish a strong linkage between the two sectors which further continue until the linkage is institutionalized.
Dire Dawa Polytechnic College is continued strengthen its industrial linkage with those industries around the city. During the industrial attachment carried out so far, those teachers who underwent practical attachment at Dire Dawa National Cement SC identified problems related to auto garage layout in the factory and they planned to solve the problem. Regarding this problem, the teachers recommended to restructure the existing garage and developed modern auto garage layout design. The photo below shows the discussion carried out between the College’s and the Factory’s management team on how to implement the proposed solution by the teachers.
