Dire Dawa Polytechnic College, through the EASTRIP Project, has been working with industries and partner institutes to institutionalize the institute-industry linkages. It is based on the belief that institutionalizing industrial linkages needs a strong partnership that is based on mutual benefits among industries and TVET institutes.

Accordingly Dire Dawa Polytechnic College provided short term training for 40 technologies selected from eight industries that signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the College.

The training was carried out for more 90 hours on Pneumatic and Hydraulic as well as advanced welding; Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG), Metal Active Gas (MAG), Manual Metal Arc (MMA) welding and Computerized Numerically Controlled (CNC) Lathe and Milling.

During the training the industries management members visited their workers while training and they explained that this mutual collaboration will strengthen industrial-institutions linkage.
