Construction of Maritime Centre on tack with Significant Milestones Achieved

Construction of the Maritime Centre superstructure is progressing well, with column, beam, and slab concreting at the ground floor level 15% complete, steel fixing 45% complete, and formwork fixing 45% complete.

Education Cabinet Secretary Ezikiel Machogu and Cabinet Secretary for Mining, Blue Economy, and Maritime Affairs Salim Mvurya recently toured the construction site of the Maritime School to assess the progress.

The ground floor slab has been cast, and column reinforcement bars are currently being fixed. The Catering Centre superstructure is now 100% complete, while external and internal walling is 65% complete. Formwork fixing for the beam and shutter roof slab is due to begin soon . Construction works for the Simulation Pools are also progressing well. Steel laying and fixing at the foundation slab level have been completed, plumbing and waste pipe works are 40% complete, and the jumping pool is 35% complete.
